Class dates: August 5, 12, 26, September 9, 16 and 23. (we skip August 19 and September 2) Do you have a dog that can do everything you learned in the Basic Obedience class in the living room, but just can’t focus out of the house? Based on Leslie McDevitt’s acclaimed book series of the same name, Control Unleashed is a training program for students and dogs who are ready to strengthen their communication and connection around distractions. This class is designed to provide proactive training to: ● Build your dog's ability to pay attention in distracting environments ● Improve your dog's ability to manage their arousal levels. ● Proactively teach handlers how to keep their dogs from becoming reactive. ● Have dogs learn to make choices and communicate those choices to handlers. This class is a great fit for those planning to participate in dog sports like agility, but also for any handler of a young, easily distracted, impulsive and/or insecure dog. This a positive reinforcement-based training class; food and toy rewards are utilized throughout the course. No makeup sessions will be offered. This class is not for aggressive dogs or dogs with a bite history. This is a six week class that is open to graduates of Basic Obedience and manners from 8 months old and up. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun learning environment that will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to successfully work with your dog!
